Arterton appears in a number of forthcoming film and television productions, including the next James Bond film, Quantum of Solace. Chosen from around 1500 candidates, Arterton will play a character called Fields, in what is described as a “nice-sized role”.

February 2008 brought the announcement of the new bond girls for the latest 007 film slated for release in November 2008.

The next Bond film will feature Gemma Arterton from Kent, England, as well as Olga Kurylenko who was born in the Ukraine. Daniel Craig will continue his role as 007, after having great success as Bond in “Casino Royale.” Although many were weary of his election as the newest Bond replacing Pierce Brosnan, Craig won over the hearts of true Bond fans.

This will be the 23rd film in the James Bond series. The first film, “Dr. No”, was released in 1962, and starred Sean Connery who is revered by most 007 fans as the best James Bond.
